Waiting for the Map to Speak

Not quite knowing where I belong in the world right now today I took a road trip to Twin Falls Idaho where I've been considering a possible job prospect. Feeling rather unimpressed with the place and not hearing that special geographical "calling" I decided to drive on to Sun Valley for the hell of it. Well I've always wondered what this ski playground of the rich and famous really looked like so I drove and drove and drove.

It's beautiful in Sun Valley for sure. I was thinking Oh yeah I could live here it might be quite nice. But as I drove around I thought Oh gosh I suspect this may be Snobville.

Well it turns out Presidential candidate John Kerry has a home there ~ quite the spread (7000+ square feet/ 19 bedrooms). Tonight in an article I read he has $23 million in homes here in the U.S.

Now isn't that nice :) Meanwhile I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to afford to live in anything bigger than a closet LOL.

(I feel a minor rant coming on...) This has gotten me to thinking once again about how tired I am of this so- called "democratic process". When will there ever be a presidential candidate/ front runner who's not filthy rich and entrenched in the ways of the Brotherhood/ Establishment?

Ok Gigi the answer is "NEVER". Get over it stop whining. ET cannot phone home done lost the calling card and that's just the way it is. (Thanks for sharing that sentiment with me Sister Sara :)

Ok we're done whining now. I have other things to think about such as trying to figure out where I belong where I should put down roots. (At least temporarily.) I'm waiting for that magical moment when I can drive into a town or city and just *KNOW* I belong there. I guess I miss Oregon. Idaho is just a bit too Republican/ Conservative for me. I'm used to radical politics and continual social discontent from the lovely Willamette Valley out west. There may be a higher crime rate and traffic a bit congested but at least there is some awareness of the world not being "just fine the way it is." I feel like I am in a perpetual "yawn" living here. I am hoping that *somewhere* in this city I will be able to find even one fellow astrologer to talk to. It might be difficult.

So I guess I will continue to hope that I will feel a strong calling from somewhere on the map. Florida? I have had a feeling about Florida but I don't think I can get there on a Saturday drive. ;)

Oh I hear a song... West Side Story? "Somewhere there's a place for us..."

Re: Re: Waiting for the Map to Speak

Thank you Michael. You know I am dying to visit Toronto. I've done (astrological) relocation charts for various places and my chart for Toronto looks pretty interesting like the kind of place that would be good for supporting my artistic side. It even gives me 11 degrees at Midheaven (the career/ life's work point). In fact it is a hair away from being 11º11'.

11-11... Now where have I seen that number? :)

Re: Waiting for the Map to Speak

Yeah this city isn't perfect but it's a pretty safe and fun place to be. Michael and I both live in the downtown core and we can walk around comfortably at any time of day or night. That's one thing about Canada compared the the States...our vibe is "come as you are and stay as long as you like". We have our murders and our crime but it's not quite the epidemic the good people down south have to endure every day.

I can't imagine how tough it would be to live in a Republican state in America. They'd lynch me! Of course Democratic states are no doubt obnoxious and overbearing too but they'd be a little more in line with "all people matter" type thinking.

So come on up to the Can Gigi! The more of us who show up for Doc Night the better.

Hey Fiend

I have every intention of visiting Toronto. I will keep my fingers crossed for sometime in summer but who knows it could end up being delayed due to work demands. We'll see.

So when is "Doc Night?"

Work demands schmurk demands. ;)

Doc Night is not a regular event or anything but Michael and I have seen 3 or 4 documentaries in the past several months. I'm assuming we'll team up to see Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 911' later this year.

Gigi Have you checked out the city of C'ordelane (spelling?) in Idaho. It's very close to Spokane Washington and I've heard it's the most progressive town in Idaho. I went there once but just drove through on a sales trip so I don't remember much but they did have a couple of new age stores there.

Good luck Zera

<< Gigi Have you checked out the city of C'ordelane (spelling?) in Idaho. >>

Oh yes I sure have. I got hitched to one of my husbands there one with a 2-14 birthday (that number that number...). Coeur D'Alene is one of those places where you can run off to get married get all your papers in one day before you change your mind ;-) So sort of like the Las Vegas of the Northwest minus Elvis impersonators.

<< It's very close to Spokane Washington and I've heard it's the most progressive town in Idaho. >>

You mean the ONLY progressive town in Idaho? LOL

<< I went there once but just drove through on a sales trip so I don't remember much but they did have a couple of new age stores there. >>

Yep. Coeur D'Alene is just a stone's throw from Spokane which hosts the annual "Mind Body Spirit Expo" that I've gone to (but will most likely miss out on this year). Spokane is a pretty cool place and also very pretty but they have hard winters and traffic congestion problems.

OH -- I don't remember if I've told you this but Spokane is one city that I *KNEW* as soon as I saw it. I knew my way around the streets and everything had that feeling of familiarity to it.
